A few times lately I’ve talked about heaven with some believers who knew they were dying. We talked about how wonderful it will be with Jesus and how we will all meet again in heaven one day. As we talked about heaven and all the great things that are in store for those in Christ, I was able to look these precious people in the eyes and tell them with all confidence and assurance that when they pass from this life and enter into heaven - they won’t be disappointed.
When a person is facing death, and outside of a miracle they will die; they need to know who and what they are trusting in for eternal life. I’ve looked into the eyes of believers who were facing death, and they believe; yes, they believe; but they’re human as you and I are and there are moments of apprehension and concern. They, like you and I, have never faced death before. During those moments of apprehension the eyes show it and the words reveal it. And it’s during those times that we can confidently know in our hearts and tell other believers who may be facing death, “You won’t be disappointed!”
As you’re serving the Lord at church and are a witness to others in the world, don’t become weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Any inconvenience or difficulty you have to go through now will all be worth it when you stand before Jesus one day and He rewards you. “because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does…” Ephesians 6:8. You won’t be disappointed! The difficulties can be great, but – “…do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all” 2 Corinthians 4:16, 17.
Heaven is beyond our wildest imaginations. It’s wonders and joys can’t be described. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Cor. 2:9). And one thing for sure is, we won’t be disappointed!
