In 1967 FCCC was started as a few believers gathered together in a home with a passion to win people to Christ and to provide a place of worship in the Oceanway area. In the early 1970’s a small building for worship followed by a fellowship hall and educational wing was built. In the mid 1980’s a larger facility for worship was built along with a new fellowship hall and classrooms.
In February of 1995, Pastor Perry and Pastor Andrea Fruscella arrived in Jacksonville to assume the leadership of FCCC. With much work to do, they began to lead the church in reaching out into the community in unique and creative ways, train up and disciple believers, and remodel, refurbish and repair the buildings and grounds along with building an addition to the fellowship hall. These were very fruitful years of growth and advancement with a big change to come that began with a lot of prayer and planning in 2002.
With many coming to Christ and being added to the church, and with the facilities full; the next big step was to build a large new worship center, grand foyer, nursery wing, classrooms, etc. The planning and work needed was great, and God gave to Pastor Perry, Pastor Andrea and to the believers of FCCC the enabling power, grace, wisdom and strength to complete a very successful stewardship program and to build the beautiful state of the art facilities the church now enjoys and uses for the glory of God. The new facilities were completed with the first worship service taking place on Resurrection Day (Easter) Sunday in 2005.
Today, FCCC is a thriving, exciting, growing, larger church in the Oceanway area not far from the Dames Point bridge. You’ll find a casual, relaxed atmosphere with contemporary music you’ll love, friendly believers, and practical Bible messages that will inspire you, challenge you, and help you to grow in your walk with God. With activities, events, classes, and ministries of all types; along with many opportunities to serve the Lord for all ages, you’ll find FCCC is a great place to make new friends and grow in the Lord.
