A good thing that I got from my bio-logical father is great teeth! However, as a child, I did not floss enough and I have many fillings. Popcorn is not my friend now. So I go to my dentist whom informs me that I need a root canal on my molar. I said, "Could I just extract it?". He said, "Not unless you're a hillbilly". I thought about being a hillbilly for a few weeks (smile). But then after seeking wise counsel from my friends on facebook and Jacksonville University, I decided to just bite the bullet and get it done! I had no pain at all and doctor said that I am an easy going patient. I have no fear of Dentists or most anything.
I started thinking about getting to root problems and how we could all use a spiritual root canal sometimes! Once I let the dentist in that area, he found an extra canal to work on! God sometimes works like that too. If we would just surrender areas to God and give him full rights to fix whatever needs fixed, could it be much less painful just by our attitude and willing heart? Can staying moldable, teachable, and humble actually prevent root problems from setting in? Like my teeth, I suspected there was a problem when I felt pain and sensitivity. If not dealt with, it could become an infection and cause loss of the tooth. Are you feeling pain or sensitivity in areas at home? Work? How many times in this life, do we have to lose something before we realize how blessed we really were? Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins (James 4:17). Address the root problems without fear!
